Terms of service
Last updated: June 2026
Welcome to Vicinto. By creating an account you agree to these terms. The short version: be a real person, show up in good faith, don’t make anyone feel unsafe.
The service
Vicinto connects people in a local scene — a map of members, events, and community conversation. We provide the platform; the community is you. Features may change as the product evolves, especially during the pilot.
Your account
One account per person, representing yourself (or your own business). You’re responsible for activity on your account. You must be 18 or older.
Community rules
No harassment, stalking, hate, or threats. No using the map to track, follow, or contact people who’ve made clear they’re not interested. No spam or mass solicitation. No impersonation. Events you post must be real. We can suspend or remove accounts that make the community feel unsafe — that judgment is ours, and we’ll use it.
Safety
You meet people from the internet at your own judgment. Meet in public places. Vicinto shows approximate locations only, but you are responsible for what you choose to share in your profile, messages, and events.
Your content & media
You own what you post, including photos and images you upload to chats. You grant us the license needed to display it within the service (that’s all we use it for). Don’t post content or media you don’t have the rights to, and don’t share others’ private information.
Connected accounts & integrations
If you connect a third-party source (such as LinkedIn, Apple Contacts, HubSpot, Salesforce, or Mesh), you confirm you’re allowed to share that contact data with us, and your use of each source remains subject to that provider’s own terms. We use the data only to show which of your contacts are on Vicinto and nearby; we don’t post or act on your behalf. You can disconnect a source at any time.
User content & takedowns (DMCA)
Vicinto hosts content created by its members and is not responsible for member-generated content. If you believe content on Vicinto infringes your copyright, send a notice to our designated agent at dmca@vicinto.com including: your contact details, identification of the work, the location of the material on Vicinto, a statement of good-faith belief, and a statement under penalty of perjury that you are authorized to act. We remove infringing material promptly and may remove repeat infringers’ accounts. To report abuse, harassment, or unsafe content, use the in-app report option or email safety@vicinto.com.
Paid plans & subscriptions
Paid plans (such as Plus and Business) and add-ons like profile boosts are digital purchases billed through the app store you installed Vicinto from — on iOS, Apple In-App Purchase. Pricing and inclusions are shown before you buy. Subscriptions renew automatically at the then-current price until cancelled, and your payment method is charged at the start of each period. You can cancel anytime in your app-store account settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period and you keep access until then. Refunds for app-store purchases are handled under that store’s policies (for example, through Apple).
Event tickets & fees
Vicinto provides a ticketing platform for in-person, real-world events. When you buy a ticket, the event organizer is the seller and is solely responsible for the event — including hosting it, honoring the ticket, and delivering what was advertised. Vicinto is not the event provider and is not responsible for an organizer’s event.
Ticket payments are processed by Stripe; the ticket price is set by the organizer, and Vicinto adds a service fee shown at checkout before you pay. Each ticket includes a unique QR code for entry. Refunds and cancellations are governed by the organizer’s stated policy and by applicable law; if an event is cancelled, the organizer is responsible for refunds. For ticketing questions or disputes, contact support@vicinto.com.
If you sell tickets as an organizer, you must have the right to host the event, onboard to and comply with Stripe’s connected-account terms, deliver the event as described, handle your own taxes, and process valid refund requests. You authorize Vicinto to deduct its service fee from ticket sales.
Event promotion (boosts & sponsorships)
Hosts can purchase optional promotion for an event — a Boost (a more prominent map pin and higher placement in the events feed for a limited period) or a Sponsor slot (featured placement across a city or convention). Promotion is a per-event digital purchase, billed separately from any subscription, at the price shown before you buy. Promotion affects placement and visibility only — it does not guarantee attendance, clicks, ticket sales, or any specific result, and a promoted event must still comply with these terms. Because promotion is delivered as soon as it goes live, it is generally non-refundable except where required by law; if we remove an event for violating these terms, related promotion fees are not refunded. Vicinto may label promoted content (for example, a “Sponsored” tag) and may decline or remove promotion at its discretion.
Disclaimers
Vicinto is provided “as is” during the pilot. We’re not liable for interactions between members, events hosted by members, or indirect damages, to the maximum extent permitted by law. These terms are governed by the laws of Florida, USA.
Dispute resolution & arbitration
Please read this carefully — it affects your legal rights. Except where prohibited by law, you and Vicinto agree that any dispute will be resolved by binding individual arbitration rather than in court, and you and Vicinto waive the right to a jury trial and to participate in a class action. You may opt out of this arbitration agreement within 30 days of creating your account by emailing legal@vicinto.com. Nothing here prevents either party from seeking relief in small-claims court.
